Before moving to SA, Porsche won Best Poodle Puppy of the year 1993 from the Poodle Club of Victoria. Once here, she began to teach me a thing or two about Poodles. Porsche was a successful showgirl winning multiple Best Exhibit in Group awards and was a finalist in the Foundation Cup Challenge. She was a favorite with the Junior Handlers and partnered Clair Richter (Waldwiese Wiemaraners) to a second place in 1994.
Porsche's show career was cut short by illness. She ate a fruit stone that bought about Pancreatitis and this had a devastating effect on her coat. We did not care though, as long as she was going to be OK. With a special diet and the care of a great veterinarian, she pulled through. She became the lady of the house and spent most of her time with her special friend, our Boxer, Charlotte.
Her last 12 months were spent fighting the effects of a White Tail Spider bite. This same bite would eventually take my girl away from me.
Porsche's temperament and lust for life will never be forgotten. Both Matthew and myself sadly miss her.
"Mourn not too long that she is gone, but rejoice forever that she was."
