Junior Handlers

When people ask me when or how I got into showing dogs I normally reply "I was born into it" and I literally was. As I was born on the 26 th of April and my parents were at a dog show (Anzac Day Holiday show) the day before I was born and I was at my first show, Gawler Kennel Club Champ Show, the next weekend. Back then there was not the 7year old age limit to showing and at the age of 4 I was showing my first dog. I got my first solely owned IWS at the age of 8 and have not been with out one since.

I enjoyed moving through the ranks of Junior Showmanship and then progressing to trainer / tutor and eventually judging. I had the pleasure of successfully handling many different breeds not only in Junior Showmanship, but also in the breed ring.

To date, the highlight of my judging has been adjudicating the ACT & District Final of the 1999 Pal Junior Handlers Competition and co-judging the final of the Ladies Kennel Club Handler Competition 2004.
